We're getting more tired everyday now, mostly becouse all we eat is hotdogs and sandwiches and also becouse we are in the studio every minute of the day =D

1st of January started off with the Chris Laney solo album.

Lennart & Chris is currently mixing the album, 12 tracks.

I wanna thank Robbo and Sören for making my dream come true... or should I say, they got tired of hearing me talking about the Swedish "Jul Bord" (Xmas food)...

Friday Robbo was a pain in the ass wanting to try out stuff and change stuff all the time and I was hungry as an animal...To my surprise he only fucked with me to delay me from going out to buy lunch... they had ordered "Jul Bord" and Schnapps !!!!!!

I Love these guys, what a great thing to do...(Or maybe they were just to sick of me going on about the food hahahaha)

Hi everyone!

I took a break in my solo record to record more stuff with with the legendary Brian Robertson.
Ian Haugland (Europe) and Nalle Påhlsson is backing him.

Yesterday we nailed two songs, drums and bass.

This session we will do 3 songs, so when this week is over we will have 9 songs down....close to a full length album.

All Robbo fans will be pleased, great songs, great performance of all involved.

Oh man my head....

Yesterday was a day off from the recording session.
Polar Studios had it's annual Xmas party, 150 of our closest friends came by for some Greek food (Fontana food)and drinks.
People from , babylon Bombs, Bo Kaspers, Candlemass, Dynazty, Robbo, alot of session musicians, managers, lawyers , and other cool people.

Today it is back to work!!!

Saturday I had Nick over to do a solo, Nick was my guitarist in Seventeen back in the late 80's and one of my best friends.

Grizzly is recording his basstracks at his own studio, that is how he likes to work...he is so damn good there is no point of me try to tell him what to do,.

My old friend Martin Sweet (Crashdiet) visited my session today.
We started blabbering about shit at the spot, like two brothers that haven't met in a while.

He wanted to listen to what I've done so far so I played him a couple of songs.
To my satisfaction he smiled and said, I love that part, Wow, that sound just like what I would expect from a C. Laney album.
We had a few laughs of my direct connections to Shotgun Messiah, Def Leppard and KISS, lol, c'mon, I LOVE that stuff.

So after a few cups of coffee he tuned his ESP Les Paul and winged away some great solo stuff on the track "Fire & Ice", a track he said would fit right in on the "Crazy Nights" album by KISS....and we both love the KISS from that period.

Some of the takes will be on the "Making of" bonus on the cd.

Kind of felt weird not tagging along to the club "rocks" where he invited me tonight (He was the DJ)
but I know I have tons of stuff to do tomorrow.

Anyways, Keep visiting and drop comments, I'm on every day;)

"Last man Standing"....that was the working title of the album, but since there is too many songs/films named like that, i decided to pass, but thanx dr rock, Lillen and Jamie!!!!

Hey ya all.

Wow, what a day.... We got ALL of the 12 tracks down that Kobie wanted to play on.
His Mapex kit sounded amazing.

Nalle "Grizzly" Påhlsson joined in and jammed. He is doing all of the bass work on the album too wich makes me happy, can't ask for a better, more solid rythmsection.

When it was time to lay down "Skin On Skin" Lennart & Johan wanted me to give it a try... (I was a drummer backwhen...) woho, It was so much fun and the result is cool, I am very proud to play drums on one track of the album, so much fun...But today...Blisters all over my fingers lol

Later we went out and had a few cold beers...gotta love life;)

Ok, here's something I want you to help me out with... Name my solo album!!!! Post your ideas here on the blog comments.

Koleberg (Therion, Randy Piper's Animal, Zan Clan) came and fired away today.. he did a great job, as always!

We nailed "I Dunno", "Fire & Ice", "Make U Cry" and "I Hate Your Guts".

First half of the day was set for just getting the right sound, but with a great drummer that is pretty easy.

Lennart delivered some pretty cool solutions and ideas..as always ;)

Yesterday I had Alec Ferrarra over to write with me.
We had a blast and the song kicks!

It is a hard driven rawker, perfect for the album.

Hey everyone.

I am thrilled to announce that I am in production making my solo debut album.
Here some notes:

So far, starting Friday , November 21st, me and Lennart Östlund has listened through a lot of ideas that I have had in my computer.

Some great, some not lol!!

So it was back to writing new stuff, It has been a blast and my inspiration is flowing.

I hooked up with some of my song writing friends including, Anders Ringman (My Platform partner), Anders Lundquist (Whom I have co written songs with for ANIMAL and many more), Zinny Zan (My partner in crime in Zan Clan), Bruce Kulick (KISS, Grand Funk Railroad), Alec Ferrarra (Animal/Zan Clan co writer), Karin Sjögren (Loud) and of coz Lennart who I am brainstorming with 24/7.

Right Now 9 songs are roughly recorded with drum machine, guitars, bass and guide vocals.

Wednesday next week I have set my own deadline for songwriting.

Then it is time to bring in the guys who will back me up, Johan Koleberg and Nalle Grizzly Pålsson, both of Animal, Zan Clan and Therion fame.

Nalle also contributed with some songwriting, A big happy family hahahaha.

The sound will be a slightly more melodic that Animal and Zan Clan, But hey, this is MY album and I like that.
It is kicking ass all ready.

Friday, Candlemass started working om their second album featuring Rob Lowe as lead singer.
So far everything's gone pretty smooth...if we skip that part with the hum we all like so much.NOT lol

Chris is doing Candlemass til sunday and then on monday he will start the Dynazty album.

Lennart is hard at work with Sulo (Diamond dogs, solo, brunner and more)...
Today he had Sara Löfgren with him, The swedish newspaper Aftonbladet came and took some pictures of that.

Tomorrow, 26th, Swedish Music Magazine "MM" will include 3-4 pages about Polar Studios, so make sure you check that out,.

This has happened the last months.

Lennart & Chris has mixed the Live Album by Eva Dahlgren & Peter Jöback that can be purchased at their live shows.

The Dead By Gun album will be out Sept 25th in Finland, it got the name "Pulse"

Lennart has mixed the Bo Kaspers Orkester new album

Lennart recorded some songs with Sören Bungaard as producer for singer Simone.

Lennart has ALSO recorded Sulo for a cool new project.

Liny Wood has also been at the studio several time during this summer recording stuff for her solo album aswell as for the 1L album.

Greetings, this is Rob, Chris, Gustaf & Phil from Dead By Gun. We´re currently up at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm Sweden with our good friend and producer Chris Laney recording new material for our follow up album. Today´s Friday the 13th of June and we´ve already been here working for four days now and we´ve laid all of the drum & bass tracks for the whole album and rythm guitar parts for three of the songs. Chris has been doing Dark Illusion, Steevi Jaimz and is starting mixing Candlemass EP "Lucifer Rising" on monday.

BTW, on sunday, May 18th, Polar Studios opened the doors some 30 years ago!!!!!

Thursday we recorded Mr Rob Lowe from Candlemass, we did 3 tracks for the upcoming EP release.

Chris will mix it later in may. The night ended up at Leif Edling's "Club Sabotage" at Garlic & Shots.

Lennart is currently working on the Little Marbles single.

Friday, Chris recorded Thomas Vikström (Therion), he is singing on the new Dark Illusion album.

Nailed 3 songs Lead Vox & Backgrounds.

Around 6pm some people came to congratulate Lennart who has worked at Polar Studios for 30 years!!!!!!

It ended up with Lennart shaving off his beard, laughing, drinking, singing....we just had a blast.

Last few days we have had both studios running, a wicked mix of music streaming out of the control rooms. Mr John Norum of Europe fame is mixing his new Solo Album with Peer Stappe (Gemini Five, Dos Flamingos and more) behind the wheel.

We also have Bo Kaspers Orkester, a great Swedish band recording their new album with Lennart Östlund.

Me....well, I am currently doing pre production with Finish Pop Punk band Dead By Gun (Sony/BMG)... we will start recording their follow up to "BIG WAVE" in June.

I have also had the time to sit down and plan for this weeks Doom recording with Candlemass.... The song "Lucifer Rising" is amazing!!! So tomorrow I need to book a choir to get that feel, needs to chill your bones.

Today we've had some guys over to go over our aircondition.
We have had problems, we even named the B studio to "Hawaii" just because of the heat....
The guys did an amazing job, a matter of fact, too good of a job, it is freezing cold now!! hahaha Polar!!!!

They will return to adjust and make sure the climat is to our satisfaction.

Since we have so much going on at the studio, we haven't had a shot getting the time to get a proper homepage set up....

In the mean while we set this up, so you know we are alive and kicking.
